Another example of a Digital RAW photograph retouched to simulate an underexposed/ underdeveloped 35mm negative film photograph scanned hard. The "before" digital file in the example is actually a .jpeg photo file which the camera generated, though I edited from the RAW file. The reason I show this is because even though I went to the trouble of exposing for the highlights, of course the main subject is underexposed. Point is, for the person using their compact digital camera for fun will either end up with an underexposed picture or the dreaded blown out white sky disorder depending on the cameras mood. Either way the already baked .jpeg file will have nothing left to recover either problem. Which as a generation leaves us with a ton of these ugly, useless digital photo files. In this film simulation I did not try to match the colours too closely as the film scan itself is far from perfect as a straight scan with no retouching done to it. Regardless the digital RAW photo edit still ended up pretty close in which I also over simulated the film grain, scratches and dust for exaggerated effect.
